Hello [02 Jun 2009|05:27am]

dandygrrrl

Well this seems like a place for me, being a dyslexic writer I had more then my fair share of flames the best ones being posted on fuckyou_mcr . After deciding to rewrite a fic these are some of the flames I'm getting over there.

When I saw that I was too depressed to actually look at it.

Your bandom worst nightmare, seriously. Usually I'm pretty lenient with writing but that stuff? That was like. Scissors in the eyes.

Isn't there enough pain in the world?

This community seems a touch defunct, but I thought I'd try anyways. You see, I just got an odd comment on a few of the shorts I posted to a community. Maybe it's not exactly a flame, but it's... weird.

If you make Oromis pregnant i will have a heart attack and die!!! Dont be a fool man.

(P.S) you should (or have somebody else)do a Eragon/saphira or Eragon/Brom fic mabye, oh well keep up the good work

HAHAHAHA. First of all, don't tell me what to write, hon. And if I write it, there's no reason at all you'd have to read it, so why should it bother you?

Secondly, any use of the word 'man' in that context makes me automatically think you're a stoner.

Thirdly, why would I particularly care if you died? Are you my first born child I haven't had yet? Anyways, if you'll die over fanfic you need to lighten up.

Fourthly, how and WHY GOD WHY would I have someone else write a request pairing for you? I'm still trying to get people to even READ my goddamn rarepair.

Lastly (and this is my favorite part), you're freaking out on me for CONSIDERING writing mpreg (as a fun experimental piece, not an epic or anything) and in the same breath you tell me to write BESTIALITY? Saphira is a dragon, for those of you not knowing.

Nevermind that the mpreg is question is ALREADY WRITTEN.

This is just great. Don't you love when little kids flame your fic even though you warned the audience about what would be inside the link?

I love it.

I love it so much that I had fun replying to the 'anonymous' flame in the authors note in the beginning of the next chapter so that all my nice reviewers had a field day laughing in their next comments.

Considering I haven't posted on the darn site in forever. I rarely get time to get to my email anymore. For those who commented to my last post, thank you.

Here's my latest review. Luckily I only have the one-shot and that one chapter posted... I'd hate to see my inbox if I actually had more stories posted.

The stalker wows me with their insults...Collapse )

Ah well. It doesn't bother me other than, why are they wasting my time and my inbox space with this kind of stuff? *sighs* Icon says it all.

Okay, I haven't been online in almost an entire month. Thanks to work and the fact that I went home to visit family and friends. I come back and a week later I finally get internet access to check my email, which has piled up. ^^'

I see an email saying I have a review from FanFiction.net, which I haven't been to in practically six months! I gave up posting on that site a long time ago and basically said I won't be posting due to lack of internet access. Anyone with a brain can understand this right?

I open the email and I see this. *sighs*

Flame?Collapse )

So this all starts at my Sue of the Day. One of my reviewers likes to MST short passages of the tripe in question. So she leaves her review and some anonymous coward says:

Someone smart once told Vlad that if he has nothing nice to say, he shouldn't say anything at all.

Get my drift?

*dies laughing* Oh, I'm sorry. Were you trying to be serious?

I received this flame a couple days ago. The author this flamer is referring to plagiarized Cassie Claire's Very Secret Diaries. I don't remember my exact review, but it was basically along the lines of plagiarizing = very wrong, plagiarizing something so well known = very stupid and very wrong.

Anyway, the flame:

I still haven't heard anything back from her.

Flames, Reviews and Concrit [10 Mar 2006|10:26am]

I found this in my inbox this morning, regarding an essay (OK, more of a rant) I posted at Fictionpress a couple of years ago.

IT's rather amusing, methinks. :)

Anyone care to translate this for me?

Some people have wayyy too much free time in their hands...

I gave a rather harsh but polite concrit to a Prince of tennis badficcer who wrote a MomoshiroxRyoma slash fic with Sakuno bashing. Here's her reply:

If you write for yourself and don't believe in the fic minimal rules... WHY on Earth do you write fics and place 'em online, huh?!Collapse )

Not as hilariously inflammatory as others, but packed with nosense. How cute. :3

My favorite flame [05 Feb 2006|01:35pm]

mice
I think that this flame was the reason I started the community...I re-read it today and instead of bursting into flames, I fell out of my seat laughing.

Such is the power of a good flame.

A while back, when I read a story that was bad, I posted a review insinuating such an idea. The insinuation was as subtle as a jackhammer to the balls, but I digress. As a result, there was some retaliation on some of my stories on fanfiction.net. This was for a story I wrote for the X-Men fandom where Iceman goes on the "Wheel of Fortune":

We haven't even read your story and we KNOW it sucks! Why in earth
would you even think to put x-men on wheel of fortune. That is the most
retarded and gay idea i have ever heard. That must mean you are a gay
retard. hm. not a SURPRISE. :) asshole

Of course now, when President Bush flames me, he will be using "human-animal hybrid" instead of "gay retard". His priorities have changed.

Recently, I wrote a very short DBZ story. I was trying for under 1000 words, it came out to 1028, so eh, close enough. If anyone wants to see the story, it's Here.

Anyway, so I clean it up a bit and post it to FFnet. In the description I say it's complete. I get a bunch of comments most going, "Wow, this is great, I can't wait to see what happens next!" Which is weird enough, seeing that I checked off the box for "Complete." Yes, I can see where the story might be interesting to continue, but that wasn't my intent.

Then, I get this review...Collapse )

Psychosomatic... That boy needs therapy! [26 Jan 2006|01:25pm]

This is a follow up to lord_sponge's post found here: OMG, SUES!

For a quick refresher, it was an Initial D fic which had unrealistic cars and tons of God!Sues. To which when the author was accused of having Sues, he ranted and raved about how "it was unfair for someone to try to sue him for his stories". In other words, he had no idea what a Mary Sue was.

Well, let's just say since then, he's become rather obsessed about making sure that his stories aren't Sue-tastic, though he hasn't been successful from my point of view.

Recently, though... someone gave him a not-so-flattering review, pointing out all the flaws in his fic. The review is long and wanky, so the six main points are as follows:

1) Misleading title; it indicates that it's about one of the canon teams, but quickly proves that it isn't.

2) OOCness of the second fandom being crossed over (Wangan Midnight)

3) The unrealistic illegal cars. Some are even so illegal that they would be destroyed on the spot if seen on the road, according to the reviewer.

4) Unexplained god-moding of the canon characters of Initial D.

5) Random names made up to make certain skills sound KEWL.

6) Excessive OOC + tons of Sues = Original fic with canon locations; should technically be on fictionpress instead.

Cue the author throwing a MASSIVE shitfit on another forum (one that I actually browse around on occasion), and his wanking there was just too glorious that I had to share it.

(Comments in bold are mine)

WAAAAHHH! MY STORIES AREN'T SUE-TASTIC! THEY'RE SPESHUL!Collapse )

My, my... someone woke on the wrong side of the bed this morning!

I'm tempted to send this guy the link to the essay on Self-Insertion and Mary Sues as well as the Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test, but how much you wanna bet he won't bother using it and/or would just end up bitching at me in return?

Horrah for “not flame” flames! This little paint huffer decided to point out that my Harry/Ron story is just one big error. In a nice way, though.

Sue Gets Flamed (a lot) [05 Jan 2006|04:26pm]

lord_sponge

I had a trip down memory lane today, when I found an old fic written by a guy I used to write fics with. As with most old stuff, it's pretty awful. Well, everyone starts as a n00b right? But it looks like he decided to repost the fic on a different website about a year after it was removed from FF.net.

These are from the old fic mentioned above. They are not flames that I personally recieved, but they ought to be mentioned on this community. Seems that the fic stirred up a violent hatred in the local fic community (which I don't really understand, since all the other stories on that section are pretty poor). The story itself is definitely not perfect - in fact it is probably the most MSTable thing since Gonterman and DELTA Invasion - but as you will see these flames are extreme to say the least.

For example, below I have included a review left by someone calling themselves Satanica:

(Contains bad language)

Read more...Collapse )

It kinda ranges between good constructive criticism to threats of violence. You can find the rest of the reviews here ("http://www.mediaminer.org/fanfic/view_rw.php/63068/30"). Suffice to say that the author has now barred anonymous comments. I think he's abandoned the site for good too. Perhaps he has moved on to better things.

A flame...? [05 Nov 2005|01:41pm]

I love revenge-y flames. A while ago, I replied to a story with "Beware of Mary Sues. Also, it's a little disrespectful to the readers when an author doesn't bother to spell check." This was followed by a link to the Mary Sue Litmus test. A bit later, I got this review:

I'm just so sorry, I just do NOT like your story at all! It's so mature and isn't funny at all. I just do NOT wish to read any more chapters, and...
LEAVE MY STORIES ALONE IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM!

There aren't anymore chapters, my dear... it said "one shot" on it.
I'll leave the other obvious odities unsaid.

When I was 13 or 14, I used to write really bad Digimon fiction. I had this one craptacular story that many people seemed to like, so I just kept going (and going and going) with it. Anyway, I got this review a while back (years after I'd finished the story) and it gave me a giggle. Mind you, it's mainly an attack on my virtue. Still, this creativity should be commended.

Cut for profanityCollapse )

M'hm, yes... My grammer sucks, does it? Probably because I got no brains, eh? *sigh* What gets me is, there was no graphic sex in the story! And I'm pretty sure it was rated PG or PG-13. What an oddball.
